Hi Guest!
Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.
Details about the security patch can be found here.
My VaM folder has always been in an external drive.. nothing about that has changed in the 3 years I started to use it lol.. although when I restarted my computer the other day. I got an error message about that drive.. I restarted it again and at restart, the Bios start up did some sort of check to that drive. its 8 terabytes, so it took a few minutes. The only thing that was different was this.. but that issue with it forgetting what I had hidden occurred before the start up fix anyway. I wasn't in any folders that could have accidentally deleted that setting and I'm not even sure where that would be anyway.
edit.. since this post.. when I was In VaM this morning. i noticed all the favs and templates were gone too.. not just the hidden vars..
non of the files are missing.. just whatever linked the associated tag to hidden, fav or template is missing. Additionally and probably related in some way, the last time I opened up a scene that had a subscene, the subscene wasn't saved. everything was in the scene. but the subscenes wasn't saved in a folder like I had it previously either.
These results are often shared by people who have VaM in special permission folders like /Users/, etc. Your setup is also atypical, and even if there was no problem for the past 3 years and the VaM core hasn't changed, all kinds of other things may. Maybe you can also check your SMART stats of the drive, perhaps the error shown is a warning that your disk is nearing its end.
I take it you already did a core check and repair with vam_updater.exe and nothing was broken?
Hrmmm.. I'll check if the permissions cot changed in one of the drive. I hope that drive isn't on its way out lol. That might take a while to transfer everything. lol
for sure lol.. the Vam parts close to 300 gigs lol.. but yeah, all the Unity/Unreal/Blender and asset bundle stuff takes up most of it.. only2.5ish terabytes of the 8 is used, but yup.. Id be in a really bad mood for a while if that thing tanks
probably a good idea to get a new one soon although I did a defrag the other day and nothing came up odd.
