Recently my Headset broke.. Whenever Im in Desktop mode, its not stable and crashes often.

The .exe will work sometimes, but i get the reminder from steam my headsets not on.
Anyone had this issue before?
I asked Meshed and he's never encountered this.

Might be some time before I get a new headset...

I'm probably going to get the Oculus 3 unless someone has a better suggestion.

Bigger FoV the better, but Ive got burned from Pimax before.

The DPVR4 I had.. I'd never get another one as the newer additions seam to have that paperweight on that cable still, and thats what just broke with my old one lol

Thanks in advance!

The reminder from Steam, taking it you mean the dialog box with showing a connected headset or not, shows when you start in VR mode. You can either use Desktop mode from vam_updater.exe's button, or directly by using vam_desktop.bat.
I don't see why starting in VR or desktop mode would make desktop use less stable. The only instability I had was when I was using RAM XMP profiles, disabling those resolved it for me.

I use a Pico 4 Ultra, larger FOV than the Q3, among other differences, and similar price.

Thanks!

I meant my overall issue of desktop VaM being unstable.. I knew why Steam was looking for my headset lol :)

I'll try the updater desktop button.
Yeah. I just ignore the steam reminder when I use the .exe and the .bat is the desktop one I've normally used.
I'm not sure if Ive had any xmp profiles set up, but i did config the 3d settings for VaM within my NVDIA control panel settings.

I'll look into the Pico too! thanks!
