Does anyone know what is up with the base "Nipples" morph and why MorphMergeAndSplit never seems to be able to capture it or even see it?

It looks like it's a base morph that ships with VaM. Does this mean that it is treated differently or something? It's not a pose morph, so it's not getting culled from that.

I've also noticed that many looks that even well known creators have made, often seem to have this same problem with the Nipples morph being zeroed out.

Poking around, I also can't seem to find any custom morphs that are a 1-to-1 version of this morph.

Thanks,

- Metix

I found the solution to my own issue. There's nothing technically wrong here, just an order of operations issue, and my thick skull making assumptions about things.

After I run MorphMAS, I usually zero out all of the morphs on the person before applying my newly created combined ones.

Well, zeroing out all morphs does exactly that, sets them to zero.

The "Nipples" morph has a default value of 1.0, and my assumption was that zeroing out all morphs would restore defaults, instead of actually just setting all of their values to 0.0.

Another confusing thing is that even though "Nipples" is default at 1.0, this still shows as "Active" (the checkbox), confusing me even further and making me think that this value has been edited.

For some reason I never noticed just above the "Zero" button there is a "Defaults" button. This actually restores the defaults of morphs.

So best practice is "Morphs -> Defaults -> All" instead of "Morphs -> Zero -> All".

This may seem obvious, but it appears that there are only a handful base, shipped-with-VaM Gen2 morphs that default to something other than 0.0, "Nipples" being one of them. There might be others, but I'm not going to track them all down here.

On males, the nipples default to 0.0, while penis length defaults to 2.0. Go figure.
Learned this from Discord, apparently those are all of Daz3D's defaults. So Meshed couldn't really change them without making entirely new morphs, but the ones that are baked into Daz would have come along for the ride anyhow.
