    Benchmark Result Discussion

For me with VaM, yes, I feel the 3080ti is the bottleneck with this CPU. VaM profits a lot from X3D cpus as its FPS is highly dependant on single core speed, and the huge CPU cache helps keeping the core busy by reducing the need to reach out to relatively slow RAM. But please also note: a few...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

Got myself an 7800X3D at the end of 2023, but didn't bother to benchmark it. Out of curiosity I just did it. Please note the "dragable area" that overlaps the benchmark comes from the plugin "var browser", which I use to manage var files in game. I'm not sure if it affects the benchmark...

    Other var browser

To both questions: correct. Also note that you must use the bundled var browser to load scenes, morphs etc, since they won't be available in the default browser as they are missing from AddonPackages. The bundled var browser has similar functionality though as the stock one, including previews...

Request: Up to date performance Best practices

I found out about var browser (https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/var-browser.27150/) this week and think it is the best thing since sliced bread. If you have a lot of vars, this will fix your life. Basically you move all your vars out of AddonPackages and use var browser's session plugin to...

    Other var browser

Thanks for var browser, my loading time was huge, but not anymore! Wish I found it earlier :) I tried it out; moved all my vars including UI Assist to AllPackages as part of installing var browser. After launching VaM, my session plugins were still in the list, but in a red colour and...

Improve VaM loading time by using WinBtrfs filesystem

Definitely, however I unfortunately did not do any benchmarks before the data migration as I did not anticipate difference in performance. It's a bit cumbersome to move all the data back and forth again, so I hope an interested fellow with some disk space to spare wants to do it.

Improve VaM loading time by using WinBtrfs filesystem

Hey all, Recently I took an interest in the WinBtrfs filesystem driver for Windows since I'm a big fan of using btrfs on all my Linux boxes. I did this so I could utilise its snapshot and subvolume send/receive features in Windows. My Windows PC has a separate nvme disk drive that I use to...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

New benchmarks with an 7700X at stock speed and DDR5 6000 CL15! At 1080p, everything got much better vs the 9700K, except for the "Mirror" benchmark. I'm especially happy with the "Baseline 3" improvement! At 4k, everything got worse vs the 9700K. I'm not sure how to interpret or explain this...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

Thanks both for the advice! I've settled on an 7700X, 6000 CL30 ram and an ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I mb (I need mini-itx) and will do a new benchmark whenever everything has arrived and is set-up. I had a hard time deciding what to settle on, but my train of thought can be summarized as follows...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

I'm considering to upgrade my CPU and therefore did some benchmarking to see what I can expect from it. Currently rocking an i7 9700K (with all core boost limit set to 4,9GHz), 3080TI (FE, stock), and 32GB DDR4 at 3300MHz 15-17-35. Official benchmark, Desktop @ 1080p: Official benchmark...
