I recently got a new laptop. These are the results of what I have been using so far ( it was version 3, so not apples to apples comparision):
And here are the results of the new laptop
And as a curiosity here are the results of the same laptop but running in silent mode ( it was running more...
I wonder how VAM will work on newest laptops ( 13th gen Intel CPU and RTX 4000 GPU). From the first glance they seem very tempting but I wonder if they will be able to reach RTX 2000 or 3000 desktop level performance in VAM. I would like to retire my laptop with GTX 1060 this year.
It would be helpful it you could also tell us your GPU, because if you buy a powerful CPU, then you can still be bottlenecked by a weak GPU and you won't see much or any performance improvements from a new CPU purchase.
I used this varManager, but only first version worked for me, every other version crashed. It's buggy and tedious to delete vars using this program, atleast with version I used. Also like I mentioned in my post, some dependencies that this program showed didn't seem right for me. Like I tried to...
Yesterday I did what probably a lot of people decide to do - create a new, clean instance of VAM. Cleaning VAM became too time consuming, especially since many tools for this doesn't work for me. Also some dependencies didnt seem right with the cleaner I used? Anyway, my VAM folder simply got...
I recently moved my VAM installation from HDD to external SSD too. I also back it up sometimes to my server. My whole VAM is 120 GB, so I wish there was an easy way to clean it from unnecessary files, because I have low end system and every frame counts. I already tried cleaning it once in the...
Sorry for the late reply. Firstly, I think that running VAM without SteamVR gives me slightly better frame rate and since I have low end specs, I want every frame I can get. Secondly, when using SteamVR I need to have Steam running in the background, otherwise the controllers won't work. Because...
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to change the bindings for the Oculus Quest 2 controllers. I am launching VAM directly through Virtual Desktop, skipping the SteamVR. Previously when I used SteamVR for launching VAM, I changed the trigger to act exactly as analog stick press ( Analog Sticks...
Holy shit! I knew that some hairstyles could obliterate fps, but I didn't know that glutes have that much of an impact too! Using recommended settings in givemefps nearly doubles my fps. Hair looks noticeably worse, but it is a sacrifice that I am willing to make so it work better in VR. Glutes...
So I bought Quest 2 recently and I still feel like I am missing out due to the rather poor hardware. GTX 1060 paired with i7-8750h and 16 GB RAM isn't doing too great. Even in desktop mode, it wasn't running too great but in VR it's even worse. I can only handle empty scene with a single model...
