VaM 1.x Discord to require face/ID verification starting in March

Well, it does for many people. I don't know about your experience, but I've only ever submitted my ID information (online) to official home government websites, not third-parties like Discord who already have a history of data breaches. To me this may mean the end of the road for me in Discord...

VaM 1.x The VAM on Linux thread

On behalf of a user that doesn't have an account here: Problem: No issue running VaM in desktop mode via Steam. But with VaM in VR mode via ALVR + SteamVR, I just see a black sceen inside my headset. On my "flatsceen" monitor, enabling VaM's VR monitor option shows VaM VR content. Solution...

    VaM 1.x scene load error

No error is shown in the picture, the blue box is a loading box. What did you do on the original scene that may prevent the local save to load? How large is the JSON in MB?

VaM 1.x Dear VaM team, please pause V2 work for a day or two and fix the loading speed issues in V1

You are refering to a really big scene with hundreds of dependencies, it is an outlier which is expected to have long loading times.

VaM 1.x The VAM on Linux thread

Given that all works except that creator's weirdly distributed content, I'd say it's not a VAM problem but a problem with the creator's content. The AddonPackages folder is only for VARs, do not dump anything else there. If the creator shows instructions on how to load his/her content, follow them.

VaM 1.x The VAM on Linux thread

By JSON, do you mean you're loading look presets instead of appearance presets? If so, I would recommend you to not use look presets as they can break scenes, use always appearance presets.

Plugins + Scripts Random Look Loader

Hi, I was just looking and noticed this: "Optional automatic renaming of the person atom to match the preset"; as well as the capability to use look presets. The most important reason for people to not make and use look presets is because they store the atom's name in them. By adding also the...

    VaM 1.x Convert/Extract Animations/VAR to FBX

A VAR is just a zip file with a meta.json file and whatever content is packed in. Animations done in Timeline or Scene Animation are stored in the scene's JSON file under /Saves/scene. I don't know of ways to convert that JSON data into FBX or other formats because I never tried to. If you found...

VaM 1.x Trackers prevent Embody to work

The horizontal bar UI button is VAM's legacy possession, it's not using Embody. For everyone with problems with Embody, do check the plugin's documentation, run the wizard and do some testing.

    VaM 1.x Arousal Meter

There is no "arousal level" in VAM unless you or someone else creates one. Some plugins can also have arousal levels and they're coded in to whatever the creators decided. I don't know that one in particular, but if you want to make something visual to show whatever it sets as arousal, you'd...

VaM 1.x Package VAR with Video

The path in the first image continues to be incorrect: Saves/scene/Custom\\... Open the scene JSON in Notepad or similar, search for your video and see what is referencing and anything weird related.

VaM 1.x Package VAR with Video

You can add any files you want to a VAR, there's no limitation in place. Two things of note: You can see in the references screenshot that those paths don't look right. How did you manage a Saves/scene/A:\\Virt... path? Are you using some kind of external tool to move out stuff elsewhere or...

VaM 1.x Atoms on and off by string

What you want is a better scene structure and trigger organization. If you're adding the same triggers in multiple places, you're making your scene messy, complicated to manage and rigid to experimentation. Logicbricks, VAMStory Director, and others alike can give you not only ways to organize...

VaM 1.x Implementing VR-friendly interface and mechanics in scenes

Whether UIbuttons or toggles, doesn't matter what it is, just to note that someone on VR is very likely not near or able to use a keyboard for hotkeys. It's not essential, as any player with even a little experience can get in or out of embody via the VAM UI or using UIAssist (such an essential...

VaM 1.x Implementing VR-friendly interface and mechanics in scenes

Keep in mind to not overdo things. Too many things can be overwhelming for the user, difficult to show, or a pain to maintain. Hiding atoms is a common method to prevent people moving things by mistake and messing up the scene. Atoms have a "hidden" checkbox on their main tab. A few embody modes...

VaM 1.x The VAM on Linux thread

Yeah, I play VAM on Arch just fine in desktop mode. I have not tried VR on it though, I prefer to use Virtual Desktop on Windows for that. If you're new to Linux then Arch is probably a really big jump and you might want to try Ubuntu and variants for example instead.

Solved Maybe I'm not tech savvy enough?

Location is fine, unless you made the Games folder more restricted in permissions than the default, which I doubt. Yes, you can move VAM somewhere else, it's not installed can be moved anywhere. Also makes it easy to do backups. The probem will continue to happen if you move VAM elsewhere, as...

VaM 1.x Look have missing teeth and tongue

Teeth and gums (from Jackaroo I think) clothing items are much more detailed than the built-in teeth and becoming very popular to use it on looks. To use them well you need to hide the built-in teeth to not conflict visually, that's why they were hidden. It's the creator's choice to use them...
