No error is shown in the picture, the blue box is a loading box. What did you do on the original scene that may prevent the local save to load? How large is the JSON in MB? -

You are refering to a really big scene with hundreds of dependencies, it is an outlier which is expected to have long loading times. -

Given that all works except that creator's weirdly distributed content, I'd say it's not a VAM problem but a problem with the creator's content. The AddonPackages folder is only for VARs, do not dump anything else there. If the creator shows instructions on how to load his/her content, follow them. -

By JSON, do you mean you're loading look presets instead of appearance presets? If so, I would recommend you to not use look presets as they can break scenes, use always appearance presets. -

VaM 1.x Convert/Extract Animations/VAR to FBX
A VAR is just a zip file with a meta.json file and whatever content is packed in. Animations done in Timeline or Scene Animation are stored in the scene's JSON file under /Saves/scene. Keep in mind to not overdo things. Too many things can be overwhelming for the user, difficult to show, or a pain to maintain. Yeah, I play VAM on Arch just fine in desktop mode. I have not tried VR on it though, I prefer to use Virtual Desktop on Windows for that. If you're new to Linux then Arch is probably a really big jump and you might want to try Ubuntu and variants for example instead. -
