[Obsolete for 1.20+] HOW TO ENABLE VRSS on GeForce 445.45 and above for your RTX cards [By Kimboo]

Guides [Obsolete for 1.20+] HOW TO ENABLE VRSS on GeForce 445.45 and above for your RTX cards [By Kimboo]

FYI, this guide is no longer valid for VaM 1.20+ in fact it seems to drop performance significantly. I no longer suggest using this guide, the performance increase that 1.20 offers surpasses this guide.

I though I would share it with you guys. I tested it out and it works amazingly. Below is his original unedited guide.

WARNING: You probably shouldn't try this if you feel challenging understanding any of the steps below.

Only works on turing based GPUs.
1. Go into NVIDIA control panel, select Manage 3D Settings (The global setting), scroll to Virtual Reality – Variable Rate Supersampling and select the "Adaptive/Always on" setting on the right. (For obvious result, use "always on"). Remember to apply the setting before you quit.
2. Open CMD as admin, go to your VaM folder, and execute following commands:
mklink /j VRChat_Data VaM_Data
mklink /H VRChat.exe VaM.exe
3. Create a txt file in your VaM folder. Put this line below as content:
START "VRChat" VRChat.exe -vrmode OpenVR
4. Change the extension of the txt file you just created to .bat
5. Double click the file you just renamed to launch VaM. Turn on MSAA in graphic setting. VRSS should be up running now!
* Use this file you created for future VRSS VaM gaming.
For balance in performance & quality, set scale to 0.75~1.25, and use MSAA 4X~2x.
*
If you want to "feel the power", change your graphic setting to : Scale 0.5, MSAA 4X/8X, and compare it with a normal Vam. Result should be obvious!

I've added 2 files that should help with steps 2-4.
1. Unzip them into your root VaM folder.
2. Right-click LinkVRChat2Vam.bat and click Run As Administrator. (Should only need to be done once)
3. Run VaM (VRSS).bat to start VaM in VR Mode with VRSS enabled. (Run this any time you want to start VaM.)
