Object Explorer 2.0

I'm excited to share an upgraded version of the Object Explorer I've been using internally that I believe is essential for power users of VAM. Simply point at any game object in the scene using your mouse or VR controller to inspect and edit its properties in the hierarchy view, just like you're working in the Unity Editor.

  • Point & Inspect Explorer: Instantly inspect any object in your scene by pointing at it in Desktop or VR mode.
  • New Component Support: Added new inspection support for Unity components: Atom, Camera, and Configurable Joint and more to come!
  • Leaf Targeting: Toggle Select Leaf to easily target deep child objects inside complex hierarchies.
How to Use
  1. Enable Mouse Explorer in the plugin UI (this activates the Point & Inspect feature).
  2. Choose your input method:
    • Desktop Mode:
      • Enable Left Mouse Btn to select objects by left-clicking.
      • Enable Left Ctrl to select by holding Left Control and pointing.
    • VR Mode:
      • Enable Right XR Controller or Left XR Controller to select by pointing and pressing the trigger/select button.
  3. Point & Select: Aim at the object and use your input.
  4. Inspect: Object details appear in a temporary panel under the Mouse Explorer section.
