Great guide, but I am also running into the 'geometry does not match' error. I am wondering if it has to do with the naming of the different nodes? The figure I'm trying to convert has an 'abdomen lower' node in addition to 'hip.' Might be able to be solved by using morphs on a base character. Will try and report in.

good job!
1.How to deal with genitals?
2.The eyeballs are stretched.

Awesome guide. But there a slight difference in the provided pose, the legs doesn't match the G8 body exactly. To fix this set Pose Controls>Legs Spread to 3.5% for the G8 character.

Edited from "I appreciate the effort but it shows error for me, When I tried loading morph it says the geometry didn't match, I tried with multiple carecters but same error."

Actually I had to delete eyelash from gen 8. And everything worked after that.

Just tried this; took it really slow as I'm new to DAZ, made a couple of mistakes, but then it worked great :D
Great job with the guide +1

Great Guide! Is there a similar tutorial for converting G8 textures to G2?

This is awesome, however I am having a small issue when initially exporting the OBJ, as even with the recommended settings my file is still larger than 4 Mb, anything else I can try? Thank you

It seems you have some other items in addition to the model itself. Reminder: the model must be completely naked, without eyebrows, hair, or anything not directly related to the model.

Geometry did not match, failed to create morph.
Do you know what it could be? I did everything it asks there and I got stuck in that part when the error.

I use this now to add in custom morph's and figures from G3 and up. Love it and find it absolutely necessary to be able to do so.

I done exactly as shown but I also can't find the morph ingame.
I did make sure that .vmi and .vmb got created but I still don't see the morph...

Not working for me. When i run fit to genesis 8. The result is always a destroyed face.

Look at point 19. If it doesn't help, I've unfortunately run into this problem myself, but it most often occurs when the body is too deformed or too short. Probably an error somewhere on the daz side of the rigging adjustment.

I do not understand it, I did it as shown in the pictures and inserted it in vam, only it shows me in the tab Female Morph nothing why 😏

Make sure that the directory where you are copying is really the one specified in step 23. Also make sure that 2 new .vmi, .vmb files appear in the directory where you copied it (VAM)

Great work, thanks so much!

Time to save others from the frustration I felt. if you make a "Gen 8 Remover" morph as suggested in the other review, it does work great for partials. However, SKIP STEPS 19-21 (Rigging and ERC freeze) when making that remover morph or you'll get deformations and animation issues.

Thank you so much for this! It is working great!

I found out this handy tip:-
First create a morph with your procedure using only the g8f figure itself with no morphs dialled in. Name it g8f_base or whatever.

Then add the following optional extra step to your guide when doing further morphs:-
Before the step of exporting the .obj file, dial the above g8f_base morph into g2f at minus -100% before proceeding as normal.

This will then transfer only the morph itself and not the whole g8f figure shape. Handy for the smaller partial morphs!

Thanks again!
