Guide: Creating and Using Custom Plugin Combinations in VaM Produce 69 II

This guide walks you through the process of creating your own custom plugin combination, saving it as a preset, and ensuring it automatically loads and persists across tracks in VaM Produce 69 II.

Step 1: Open the Control Panel and Access Plugins

  1. Select the Person Atom
Click on the character (Person atom) you want to configure. This opens the control panel for that character.
  2. Navigate to the Plugins Tab
From the left-hand menu, select Plugins to view the plugin management panel.
  3. Remove Preloaded Plugins
Clear all existing plugins by clicking Remove on each entry. This gives you a clean slate for your custom setup.

Step 2: Start Adding a New Plugin

  1. Confirm the Panel is Empty
After removing the preloaded entries, the plugin list should now be empty.
  2. Click “Add Plugin”
Use the Add Plugin button at the top-left of the panel to begin adding your own plugins.

Step 3: Add and Configure Your Plugin

  1. Load the Plugin
Choose a plugin from your library (e.g., Everlaster’s Naturalis).
  2. Adjust Settings
Enable the plugin, open its UI, and fine-tune the parameters to your liking.
  3. Save as Preset
Switch to the Presets tab, give the setup a name (e.g., My Custom Plugin 1), and click Create New Preset. This saves your configuration for reuse.

  1. Open the Atom List
Go to the Select tab to see all atoms in the scene.
  2. Locate “Custom Plugin”
Select the Custom Plugin atom and open its control panel.
  3. Switch to Plugins Tab
Open the Plugins tab inside the Custom Plugin atom.
  4. Open the Logic Plugin
Find the logic brick plugin (e.g., MacGruber’s StateMachine) and open its UI.
  5. Enter Action Menu
In the StateMachine panel, click Actions OnEnterCustom Plugin to define what happens when the state is triggered.

  1. Add a New Action
Inside the Actions OnEnterCustom Plugin menu, click Add Discrete Action.
  2. Set the Receiver Atom
Configure the Receiver Atom as Person so the preset applies to your character.
  3. Select MergeLoadPresetWithPath
From the action list, choose MergeLoadPresetWithPath to ensure the preset merges rather than overwrites.
  4. Choose the Preset File
Click Choose File, then select the preset you saved earlier (e.g., My Custom Plugin 1.vap).

✨ If you want to apply the preset to a second character, repeat the same steps but set the Receiver Atom to Person#2.

Step 6: Enable Merge Load Option in Gameplay Settings

  1. Open the Options Menu
Access the main Options panel in VaM Produce 69 II.
  2. Go to the Gameplay Tab
    Navigate to the Gameplay tab.
  3. Enable Merge Load Your Own Plugins
Check the box next to Merge Load Your Own Plugins. This ensures your presets are loaded correctly in merge mode.

Step 7: Reload or Switch Tracks to Apply the Preset

  1. Reload the Current Track or Switch to Another Track to trigger the action.
  2. Verify the Setup by reopening the Person atom, where your custom plugin should now appear.
  3. Persistent Configuration
The custom plugin combination will stay active for the remainder of your gameplay session unless manually removed.

✅ You have now successfully created, saved, and automated the loading of a custom plugin combination in VaM Produce 69 II.

Special thanks to @MacGruber and his Logic Brick plugin, which makes this workflow possible.
