FastPhysicsDemo

Other FastPhysicsDemo 2023-01-14

A demonstration of fast physics settings.

You can use epiTemplateLite to let the user do this with the press of a button, even if they change the look that comes with the scene.

Creators... Please stop using a low number of lights and low-quality textures in your dance scenes when the physics is what's killing the performance.

Users... Send this to your Patreon creator, your paid content provider. Send it to them on their holidays and their birthdays! Bug them every day :)

Some of the settings triggered by the button won't work for every scene. But for a lot of dance scenes, they definitely would.

  • Soft Physics kills the frame rate. If your scene doesn't need this because there is no interaction with the breast or glutes, you can turn this off in the person settings. This way, even if it's on in the user's game settings for the scenes that require it, the performance for your scene will be better. You can keep it on for the person but switch it off for the glutes if it's needed for the breast but not the glutes.
  • Advanced colliders can be needed depending on what's going on in the scene. If the animation is designed accordingly, you can turn this off too, and get another boost to the frame rate. For a dance scene, if I were the creator, I would build/edit the animation in such a way that it would be compatible with this. “Hey, dear mocap model! Stop touching yourself and your hair. Keep your hands away from your body. It’s a dance scene.”
  • Hair simulation still costs a lot of performance. If you use a hairstyle like what Kelly has, you can switch off the sim, still have good-looking feminine hair, and unlike longer hair styles it won't go in her face or body and break the immersion.
  • Cloth simulation is also very costly. If your scene has a lot of cloth simulation but only 1 or 2 lights or just terribly gamey ambient lighting, it does not end up looking good.
  • Lowering the Physics rate has marginal returns if you have already lowered everything else. If you cannot lower other stuff, lowering the rate can still help.
These can all be triggered by Timeline/animation the way a button does. So if you have a dance scene with the male character sitting on a chair, and the dancer is shaking it at a distance where you wanna see things jiggle at high fps, and it is followed by an intimate part where you need advanced colliders and soft physics but not a lot of jiggles, you can manage that. You can let the FPS be high when you need to see things jiggle and you can let the physics be heavier and more advanced when there is intimacy.

Cheers!

  • SPQR for the Performance plugin included in the var.
  • Unknown creator for the Colortone asset first shared by Tiseb.
  • Ren for the textures that come with VaM.
  • For the body morphs, I have used ProjectCanyon Morph Merger between iterations, so I have not been able to keep track of every morph I have used but I am sure I have used some morphs from the greats such as Damarmau, ddaamm, Huz, KarmageddonVAM, KdollMasta, kemenate, Morphs_Mega_Pack, pogdaddy, Spacedog, SupaRioAmateur, TenStrip, Vambo, VirtualREM, Wolverine333... Not to mention a lot of the morphs that come with VAM by default. Thankfully, all these people have been very generous to the community and the license on their morphs allows people to build upon them.

Instructions
No dependencies. Download and start the scene.
To check your performance, you can enable the "Performance Monitor" under the "User Preferences" game menu to see your FPS (frames per second).

I had reviewed previously based on all Epi's releases are very high quality and knew this one would be - and then yesterday I tired it, OMG man, this setup, the lights and speed is not just a jaw drop, but an entire body drop - so AMAZING and it's now my default scene, thank you so much for creating this VAM magic, Epi!!!
