Considering I'm VERY new to the VAM universe and still have much to learn. (it's my very first review)
This is something I'm looking for, to make my own collections and trigger them in different ways.
I've tried to follow all the steps you've mention after loading the demo scene but unfortunately I have no sounds after trying everything I can think of.
The only way I get to HEAR the sounds is when I press PLAY manually on the list of clips, but it's not working in the actual demo scene interaction.
I also tried to add few .WAV files one by one (import file) and it works once also played if I pressed "play" to test my files are working with the plugin.
I tried the same with open a FOLDER (with .WAV files only) but I don't see anything in the list... not sure why it's not working when I try it, I even tried a fresh empty scene with one person and the plugin.
I wanted to add my own voices to the clip library list but Import File or Import Folder do not add them, the list stays empty when I removed all the clips or used the "Clear" Button on the top right under "Active Collection"
I only used the default "Untitled".

I think my mistakes are related to Receiver Atom / Node because I used "Person" (which is the only character in the scene) and HeadAudioSource that I created... maybe I should change to something else. (of course I did put the AudioSource next to the place I wanted it to be.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I hope somebody can make a quick Video to show how to set it up from scratch + load custom WAV files and make them triggerable in scene. that will be VERY helpful :)

I gave it 5 stars because I think once I'll understand how to load files (that actually will appear in the Clip Library and to make it also play in the scene and not only by pressing the Play button it will be really cool.
I wish there was a step-by-step video tutorial so me and other newbies can follow to make it work but I didn't find any and as I mentioned, following the steps for the demo didn't work for me.
* Thanks ahead for any help and sorry about my bad English
Please keep up the good work!
