This resource includes a starter set of experimental effects designed to simulate the look of being under the surface of the sea.

These effects use a shader that requires a directional light with cast shadows turned on in order to work properly. The method of implementation of these effects results in effects both at the top and the bottom of the CUA. In order to hide the bottom effect, a large ground asset is needed; you know, like the ones yours truly makes.

There are two general sizes of these effects, with small being about 20 meters in diameter, and large effects being many hundreds of meters in diameter. The smaller effects can have some interesting light rays and blurring effects but can also have undesirable light streaks the closer you get to the edge. I continue to test ways in order to reduce this issue.

Try experimenting with different heights and scales of the effects, and please let me know if you have any interesting observations. Adjusting the height of some of the larger effects, namely "sea stormy large 1," will make the surface look darker the higher up you place the CUA.

This resource also includes a small set of underwater assets to enhance the simulation. There are eight demo scenes.

beautiful environments. i wonder if there is a physics set-up for 'underwater motion', like for people floating in the water.

I am happy that you like it. For making people look like they are floating in water, I would try the gravity settings in the "scene misc" tab. You could put the Y value close to zero, perhaps make it fluctuate slightly above and below zero, and give the X and Z settings slight random values as well, using something like animation pattern triggers or timeline. You might need to lock the person in place so that they don't float away too far, either by some physics locks of the person nodes, or setting at least one animation pattern to a node in the person. If I make another update, I will try to post an example. I believe other creators have done this and hopefully someone can chime in. Thank you for the nice review.

I'm practically obligated to leave a glowing review, after my somewhat-spoiled sounding prior comment on your Oceans resource. >_>;

And now, here it is, a lovely underwater scene with an ocean effect above to match! Feels particularly timely too, with all the updates being done on the SlutShow scene's "under water" variant. I should try to combine/merge these at some point.

Thanks for all your continued hard work.

I appreciate your candor, thank you. I will admit though, that I have a habit of giving elaborate names for many of my posts, so it is my fault when I do not explain the scope of the resource well. I too have very much wanted to create a convincing underwater view; I hope that this is a small step towards that. Thank you very much for the nice review.
