How to be a successful VaM creator (financially)?

☝️ Thats exactly what Gabe Newell says as the solution to pc gaming piracy and why Steam is successful. If its the best approach for millions of gamers, surely it can work for VaM community too.

VaM 1.x any way to fix glass reflection huge fps drop?

https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/highperformancemirrorreflection.37352/ There is this plugin which lets you customize mirror performance aspect. Main thing is CustomRenderRate I think, so you lower fps of mirror only for performance increase. With builtin mirror, you can lower resolution to...

VaM 1.x Valve Index → next-gen HMD for Virt-a-Mate: Steam Frame vs Bigscreen Beyond (1 / 2) — will I feel the “wow” again?

Pixelated characters far way is more a rendering resolution issue. If you increase resolution in game, and headset has high display resolution of 2K-2.5K characters are very clear. Both quest 2 and 3 have similar resolution but with new lenses, whole character appears clear in Quest 3. If you...

VaM 1.x Valve Index → next-gen HMD for Virt-a-Mate: Steam Frame vs Bigscreen Beyond (1 / 2) — will I feel the “wow” again?

Don't know why you write post like a poem :p But bruh with those specs, don't know why you haven't already bought some new VR headset. Index is so old at this point, but I haven't used it personally so can't give you direct comparison. Best one currently available for budget price is Quest 3...

VaM 1.x Can the real-time screen of the camera be turned off

Cool approach to record video. Did the solution of moving display window work for you?

    VaM 1.x ReShade to video

@Terreneitor Another trick to improve framerate in recording is using slower Time Scale for recording, and speeding up the video with editing later. So with 0.25 recording timescale, 15 fps will become 60fps on speedup of video. Audio you'll need to record separately with this method although.

VaM 1.x Can the real-time screen of the camera be turned off

Not understanding your use-case of keeping both WindowCamera on, but recording main screen. But anyways, you can just move the window that show the camera view. Go to WindowCamera atom in Select menu. On right you see "control" and "DisplayControl". Select DisplayControl, it'll select the...

    Plugins + Scripts MicroPhysics Fixer

Haven't tested the plugin properly yet, but nice work! Small comment: Resource title says "MicroPhysics Mixer" instead of Fixer.

VaM 1.x Thoughts on Steam Frame from headset/VR experts?

To me it is just slight upgrade to quest 3 but will probably be more expensive. Only benefits could be no Meta bullshit and eye tracking optimization. But overall I'm a bit disappointed they didnt go for a high end PCVR specs. FoV and OLED screen was a main area of improvement in quest 3 but...

This is the performance patch: https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/cpu-performance-patch-up-to-30-faster-physics-up-to-60-more-fps.43427/ Check the specific config settings for your cpu in the description. Also use boot.config setting listed there. I use version 12evo with latest VaM version...

VaM 1.x pls recommend PCVR hardware specs for VAM in 2025

Since you already have good setup, you maybe want the bigger upgrade in your GPU. Your CPU is good for VR bottlenecks specially if using CPU performance patch. You can check the benchmark thread for some estimation of what upgrade will be good compare to your 3080...
