Upon request from VAM staff all QOS clothing items were removed from the package as they were breaking terms of service regarding offensive content.

The way deduplication works is described in detail on its index page. In short, it only deletes item's .vam, .vaj, .vab and screenshot files.

It does work. Just go into packages section and press F9, it toggles fine. Maybe you mean in morphs section? Those buttons are non-destructive, meaning they just schedule a deletion that can be canceled, so there's no need to hide them.
