Yes, you can already adjust the total mass in the floating plugin and most important individual parts in the Balance plugin

Yes, you are absolutely right. I've made some video showing what can be made with muscle animation but probably not clear enough. I still get questions from well known mocap dudes. It's all about immersion and make the game more real and not only some some porn-video-creator.

I might also consider using a mix of controls turned on but for now it's more for having fun with it in a scene together with balance or ropes.

I'm working on a converter at the moment. It's still some work left but my goal is to be able to convert any existing animation to a muscle animation.
