    I think the most used plugin for animation should be Timeline by AcidBubbles. Also MoCap is a great way to get realistic animations, but you would a good setup for it (for example good trackers or great cameras + software, there are different ways, big topic)...

    If you use the texture of another clothing piece, the uv map (telling the 3d engine where/how the 2d texture is put on the 3d model) will be different. So use the textures of the clothing you want to make holes in as a base.
